The Kendal Mountain Festival was a roaring success from the start in the moonlit opening ceremony in the streets of Kendal to the pizza and beer on the Sunday night for the volunteer and organising team.
I felt very proud to be part of the team and ended up introducing the mountaineering, climbing and Family groups of films. It did mean I got to see loads of great films and walk away with a spring in my step and inspired to do more adventures.
I was particulary impressed with the Film Active initiative that has been launched to inspire young people to get involved in adventure through film making. The first awards will be given at next years event. All the information is there on the website http://www.mountainfest.co.uk/film-active
As for my good friend Steve Scott, this picture is what is looks like for a brave, elite sportsman and director of KMF, when they know they are about to turn 50! Happy Birthday Steve…welcome to my world!!!
